Cinnamon Sugar Caramel Crackers

These sweet and crunchy caramel-coated oyster crackers are an addictive snack perfect for parties, gifting, or cozy movie nights. With a buttery cinnamon sugar coating and just the right amount of crunch, they’ll vanish before you know it!

Ingredients

  • 5 cups oyster crackers
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 3 teaspoons ground cinnamon, divided
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.
  2. Spread oyster crackers evenly over the baking sheet. Set aside.
  3. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine butter and brown sugar. Stir constantly until the mixture reaches a boil. Boil for 2 minutes, stirring continuously.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in 2 teaspoons of cinnamon and the vanilla extract.
  5. Pour the caramel mixture over the crackers and use a rubber spatula to stir and coat them evenly.
  6. Bake for 10 minutes or until bubbly and golden.
  7. While baking, mix together granulated sugar, remaining 1 teaspoon cinnamon, and kosher salt in a small bowl.
  8. Remove crackers from oven and immediately sprinkle with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  9. Let cool completely. Break into pieces and enjoy!

  • For a little heat, add a pinch of cayenne to the cinnamon sugar topping.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
