Creamy Pea Salad with Bacon and Cheese

Sweet, savory, and creamy—this easy pea salad is a crowd favorite! Made with tender peas, crispy bacon, cheddar cheese, and a tangy sour cream–mayo dressing, it’s the perfect side dish for potlucks, cookouts, or family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (plus more to taste)
  • 4 cups frozen peas, thawed
  • 8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1/2 medium red onion, diced
  • 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, cubed small

Instructions

  1. Make the dressing: In a large bowl, whisk together sour cream, mayonnaise, sugar, apple cider vinegar, and salt until smooth and combined.
  2. Add the mix-ins: Stir in peas, crumbled bacon, diced onion, and cheddar cheese. Gently toss until everything is well coated in the dressing.
  3. Chill: Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to let the flavors meld together.
