Polish Sausage, Sauerkraut, and Potatoes (Crockpot)

A hearty, flavorful dish that practically makes itself! With tender potatoes, tangy sauerkraut, and smoky Polish sausage, this crockpot meal is perfect for busy weeknights or cozy weekends.

Ingredients

  • 5–6 medium gold potatoes, cut into large chunks
  • 16 oz. sauerkraut
  • 1 ½ lb. Polish sausage, cut into large pieces
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 1 tsp. caraway seeds
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Place the sauerkraut into the bottom of the crockpot.
  2. Layer the potatoes on top of the sauerkraut, followed by the sausage.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the chicken broth, caraway seeds, and bay leaf.
  4. Pour the mixture over the ingredients in the crockpot, then season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Cover with the lid and cook on high for 4 hours.
  6. Stir everything together before serving. Enjoy warm!
Pro Tip: For even more flavor, brown the sausage in a skillet before adding it to the crockpot.
